ChocFest_1-31-16_0023The annual Chocolate Festival fell on January 31st this year! It is the major fund-raiser for the ongoing operation of  CCMC. In addition to chocolate (as much as you can possibly imagine) there were many great offerings at the silent auction.

The Fun City Barbershop Chorus was there (again!) with some wonderful, impromptu musical performances around the Embassy Suites first floor.

Justn Time was there entertain the kids (and adults) with his juggling and balloon animals. Another group painted faces.

Did I mention there was  chocolate (I mentioned that, right?), way too much fun– and all for a great cause!

Here are some photos from this year’s Chocolate Festival.

Some of the Award winners were:

Best Taste- The Arlington Hotel

Best of Show – Bliss Bakery

People’s Choice- Fat Bottomed Girls Cupcake Shoppe

Cooperative Christian Ministries & Clinic

Maximizing community resources to reduce poverty.

Cooperative Christian Ministries and Clinic (CCMC) is a non-profit Christian Ministry that strives to improve the quality of life of the needy in the Hot Springs area. It does so by providing general medical care and medications to the uninsured, dental and vision services to the underinsured and by serving as an advocate for the needy– maximizing community resources to reduce poverty.

Formerly, CCMC provided general medical care and medications to the uninsured, dental and vision services to the under-insured. With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in 2014, medical insurance is now a reality for many of the underserved in our community. As a result, our patient base has been reduced enabling CCMC to expand services to the same population in need of assistance.
This expanded mission includes two service divisions:

Medical Division Services
Continue to provide free medical care and medication; dental and vision services to the underinsured; other services.
Ministries Division Services
Offer coordination and collaboration of services among approved local agencies serving the needy to include the areas of healthcare, spiritual needs, mental health, law enforcement, food, shelter, transportation and education. The overall objective is to provide a bridge of hope for the needy leading to a life without poverty’s challenges in order to gain self-sufficiency.
